Dance for Kids was established in 1989 and in 1997, the popular dance school was relocated to its current home, the Brentwood Gardens. In 2000, Karen Chase, a Broadway dancer, actress and one of the original "Laker 'Girls," acquired Dance for Kids. The mission statement for Dance for Kids ("DFK") and the newly formed Brentwood Academy of Dance ("BAD") is to provide a loving and nurturing environment for children to study and to appreciate the art of dance. Summer Camps are announced for Malibu and Brentwood!! : Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

The famous summer camps at Dance for Kids Malibu & Brentwood are available for registration today. These camps are a great way to spend a week or more and have great fun and participate in exciting performances. Each camp is from Monday thru Friday from 10:00am to 2:30pm. Take one week or mulitple weeks. Do not need to be consecutive. Each camp includes that week's show as well as a camp tee shirt and lunch is provided each day. The following is the schedule: High School Musical-------------June 30-July 3 (4 day camp) Hannah Montana----------------July 7-11 Hairspray-------------------------July 14-18 Little Mermaid-------------------July 21-25 High School Musical-------------July 28- Aug 1 Hannah Montana----------------Aug 4-8 Annie-----------------------------Aug 11-15 American Dance Idol-----------Aug 18-22 Camp fee is only $385 for the first week. Dance for Kids Brentwood undergoes major renovation : Monday, January 28th, 2008

The originial Dance for Kids location in Brentwood just re-opened after undergoing a major renovation. Each studio room was increased in size by almost 50%. New restrooms and a new dressing room were also added. A flat screen TV was installed in the lobby that playes performances by the students of DFK. "The expanded facilities have meet with amazing reviews from our students and their parents", said Karen Chase studio owner & director. "We now have more space that allows room for our older students to really expand their abilities." The Brentwood Acadeny of Dance performance team now consists of 38 dancers and they can finally rehearse together in one space with room to grow. Stop by and see our new facilities.
