Edson is the new Office Manager of Dance for Kids and Brentwood Academy of Dance. Edson has experience in both office administration and dance. He comes all the way from Chicago, Illinois. During high school, Edson trained in Salsa, Mambo, Bachata, Cumbia and Merengue. He began traveling around the U.S and his team won 1st place 2 years in a row at the Chicago International Salsa Congress.
After high school, Edson continued traveling and performing at different Salsa congresses. Professionally, he began working the front desk at a large children's swim school. He worked hard to develop new skills, gained invaluable experience working with children and assisted in implementing new operational procedures that would help improve the school. He quickly worked his way up to become the Operations Manager where he spent 5 years managing daily operations, customer service, nurturing new leaders and participating in sales and marketing until his departure in 2022. During that time, he remained in touch with the dance community, and got the opportunity to choreograph for Fuego Dance Company and Colombian Club at his old high school.
He would eventually become a member of Gifted Souls and Urban Vibe. There he trained with top Latin dance choreographers such as Angel Martinez, Rocky Quinones, Jorge Alvarez and Kimberly Rivera (a protege of Mambo creator, Eddie Torres). His most recent dance company was ProjX from LA where he trained in Latin Fusion.
Last Fall, he moved to Los Angeles and this year he got the opportunity to join the Dance For Kids family. He is excited to be part of our studio where both his passion and experience with office management, dance and working with children have become one!
